Laughing in the Sky – a poem remembering my dad

The Poem…

Laughing in the Sky

If I could still hear you
I bet I’d hear
Laughing, laughing
Way up in the sky.
I bet it echoes
Through cosmos and ages
I bet it rolls and rumbles
Bellying over the winds
And crashing through tides.
I can almost hear
If I listen very hard
Way up high.

If you’ve lost someone close to you, and it’s been many years, you know how sometimes that person just pops into your head out of nowhere?

Kind of like a check-in phone call.  ‘Hello dear. How have you been?’

Dad checked in on me one morning a couple years ago, and he was laughing about something.

Have you gotten a poetic visit from a deceased love one?
